Seye can't be a hero for playing a major role in ceding Eritrea

When Shaebia blocked about 70, 000 starving Tigrians from entering Sudan in the 1984 famine, Seye and his comrades did nothing, and as a result, about 50, 000 Tigrians were left to die both from starvation and bombardment by Derg Air force.

  • Seye and his comrades are the reason why Ethiopia is landlocked.
  • Seye and his comrades did nothing to stop Shaebia from killing poor Tigrians during and after the fall of Derg.
  • Too late for Seye to act as a patriot for he is one of the engineers of the separation of Eritrea from Ethiopia.
  • TPLF did more harm than good to Tigrians and Ethiopians, where Seye was one of the decision makers.
  • A genuine hero is one who stands and defends the integrity and sovereignty of his country, and Seye did none of that.
  • A genuine hero would rather die than allow his country become land locked and Seye is not one.
  • Seye allowed Shaebia and Eritreans to be the sole beneficiaries of the sacrifices of tens of thousands of Tigrians.

Seye displaced and separated Tigrian families. Those families that were affected by Seye and his comrades decisions know what I am talking about. They are still suffering and living thousands of kilometers apart from each other. This doesn't make him a hero. Having been one of the architects of the secession of Eritrea doesn't make him a hero.

He would have been a hero if he opposed the decision of his organization to cede Eritrea . He would have been a hero if he stood and fought for the integrity and sovereignty of Ethiopia. In my judgement, no one in the leadership of TPLF is a hero. They all fought to facilitate the secession of our northern most province thereby land locking our ancient nation. This is the only achievement of their 17 years of struggle. They made it easier for Shaebia and enemies of Ethiopia to declare victory. Shaebia would have been completely annihilated by Derg's "NEBELBAL" and our security and integrity would not been compromised. TPLF played a major role in defending Shaebia during "Selahata Worar" and I am sure Seye was there to rescue Shaebia , and as you all know, taking part in a fight to defend and rescue a separatist group doesn't make one a hero, in fact that makes him a traitor.

And now, if he(Seye) has been seen with individuals like Berhanu Nega and his supporters, well, I might as well start "Salsay Woyane." I say enough is enough. Tigrians have suffered during your 17 years as a guerrilla fighter. You don't represent Tigrians and it is time for you and all TPLF leaders to apologize for the suffering that the people of Tigray endured during the past 30 years. It is time for you and your comrades to leave Tigrians alone and go to a retirement village.

You guys screwed up big time. Ethiopia's national security is at risk because of your stupid decision to cede Eritrea endangering the livelyhood of Ethiopians. We have no ports because of you, Mr. Seye Abraha. We are landlocked because of your poor decision, Mr. Seye Abraha. Do you understand the economic impact of being land locked? Now Ethiopia is at the mercy of its hostile neighbors for its imports and exports. Do you understand that denying Ethiopians an access to the sea is the crime of the Millennium?

Is Seye a hero?

According to Miriam Webster's Dictionary, Hero is: 1 a: a mythological or legendary figure often of divine descent endowed with great strength or ability b: an illustrious warrior c: a man admired for his achievements and noble qualities d: one that shows great courage

A hero is a man or woman (then often called a heroine), traditionally the protagonist of a story, legend or saga, commonly possessed of powers far beyond that of a standard human, which enable him or her to perform some truly extraordinary, beneficial deed (an "heroic deed") for which he or she is famous. These powers are sometimes not only of the body but also of the mind. Heroes are typically opposed by villains. ( http://www.websters-online-dictionary.org/definition/hero)

In the last 30 years, the people of Tigray have been through a lot. Over 100, 000 Tigrians were displaced by Derg and forcefully taken to south western Ethiopia. Many of them didn't make it to Tigray. A number of them crossed the border to Sudan and many of them died on their way back to Tigray. Thousands of them died while they were aboard the Russian made Antonov and many of them were killed by the locals upon arrival. Tigrians were paying the ultimate sacrifice while Seye and company were defending Shaebia's last line of defence. Tigrians died in the thousands while TPLF leaders were busy trying to save Shaebia's stronghold, Nakfa. While Tigrian farmers were dying or being displaced by Derg, the future of Tigray, the best and the brightest were being slaughtered in Eritrea while trying to save Shaebia . If seye was a man of courage, if Seye is a hero, as many of you portray him to be, he should have made a courageous decision and at least tried to stop the deployment of Tigrian Tegadelti to Eritrea.

Seye and his comrades created a monster, as a result, the people of Tigray are still under the clouds of war. Seye can't tell us, after committing the crime of the millennium, that he is for the sovereignty of Ethiopia. He should have raised this issue right after the fall of the Derg in 1991 and allowed all Ethiopians to make a decision on the fate of Eritrea.

Seye was in power when his party was fighting for and endorsing the secession of Eritrea from its motherland; therefore, I don't know about you, but he is not my hero, for denying Ethiopia an access to the sea is not truly an Extraordinary, beneficial deed (heroic deed) to the people of Ethiopia!

Borderline war (the Economist---)

The likelihood of conflict between Ethiopia and Eritrea is at its highest level in seven years. Eritrea is in the weaker position, politically and economically.

However, the EEBC's biggest miscalculation was to award the symbolic city of Badme—administered by Ethiopia for decades, and reportedly where the 1998-2000 conflict between the two sides first began—to Eritrea. It should have been apparent that taking away territory held long before the conflict would not be acceptable to the Ethiopian government, particularly as Ethiopia clearly had the upper hand when the cease-fire was agreed.

It would be unfair, however, to blame only the EEBC. Neither government has been a particularly amenable partner, although Eritrea has probably proved the more difficult, since over the past seven years it has expelled UN employees; confiscated UN vehicles; suspended UN helicopter flights; and imposed curfews on UN personnel. The truth is that the original agreement was flawed and never should have been structured under the "final and binding" framework without the proviso of further talks once an initial boundary had been proposed by the EEBC.

Meles Zenawi, Dump the 2000 Algiers Agreement, Invalidate, Terminate and Void the Boundary Commission and its Decision,Tecola Hagos, November 17, 2007

Must read Editorial by this patriotic and true Ethiopian Scholar!! This honorable man should form a political party and become the next Foreign Minister so that he can educate the west about democracy and at the same time defend our country from misguided congressional predators and Arab nations determined to rid Ethiopia off the map of the Earth.
No Ethiopia-Eritrea border deal (BBC)

Look at the map. Look closely what the European colonialists did to Mama Ethiopia. This is
the work of evil people with an evil intention. We must not accept this illegal work of the European colonialists. We must claim back our access to the sea. We don't want a government that depends on the West's wheat to stay in power. "Live free or die!"
Premier responds to questions of MPs (Walta)

Meles helped , defended, emboldened and strengthened Shaebia and eventually land locked a nation of about Eighty million people by ceding Eritrea. Now, kinijit is working with friends of ONLF in Washington to cede Ogaden.

Ethiopia needs patriots in the leadership of all parties, patriots who are fearless and are not afraid to fight back fiercely against any aggressor when the national interest of our country is at risk.

We must stop the Eritreans from bleeding Ethiopia! Now! The threat from Eritrea must be stopped at its source in Asmara. Bypassing the real threat is not going to bring us a lasting peace. We must, at this time, teach them a good lesson. We must completely annihilate the Shaebia army and cripple the Eritrean war machinery. We must stop going in circles.
Ethiopia, Eritrea can't agree on border

THE HAGUE, Netherlands - An international commission trying to settle a boundary dispute between Ethiopia and Eritrea ended its work Friday after the rival neighbors failed to agree on a new border in a region beset by escalating tensions.

On Friday, the commission issued a statement citing a decision made a year ago that if the neighbors failed to agree, the 2002 border it set "continues as the only valid legal description of the boundary" and said the commission's mandate "can then be regarded as fulfilled."

Comment: Ethiopia must not accept this decision just for the following reasons:
A) Eritrea has violated the Algiers agreement by occupying the demilitarized zone, which makes the agreement invalid.
B) The Ferenj can't make a border decision for Ethiopia based on the Italian colonialist's greed to grab and occupy our territory. Ethiopia with a population of about 80, 000, 000 must have an access to the sea, which is hers.
C) Ethiopia's border lies along the Red Sea coast.
If we Ethiopians continue to accept decisions made in Europe and Washington and allow them to give away our lands, then the country that we know as Ethiopia which lies along the Read Sea coast will be erased from the map of the earth in our lifetime.
Meles and his party gave away Eritrea and now kinijit leaders are endorsing separatist rebels in Ogaden once again to cede a big chunk of our territory!!

The Reporter: An interview with Gebru Asrat of Arena

Comment: "Better late than never." It is not too late to reclaim our territorial integrity. Ethiopia cannot afford to give up its territories, not even an inch! We need parties like Arena to flourish in Ethiopia, not divisive, hateful and racist parties like kinijit which are engaged in hate-politics and are encouraging their supporters to spread their extremist agendas. Any party which has any affiliation or works with Ethiopia's internal and external enemies must not be allowed to operate in Ethiopia. Advancing the national interest of Ethiopia must be one of the requirements for any party including the ruling party for it to be legally allowed to function in Ethiopia.

Comment on "The defeat of Woyanne means victory for Ethiopia"

The defeat of Woyanne means victory for Ethiopia

This son of Neftegna doesn't get it, I think. The reason why the Oromo's are using Latin alphabets is because they hate the Amhara neftegnas. Their usage of the Latin alphabet is is a way to show how much they hate the Amharas. Does the editor of the neftegna review know what OLF stands for? Which part of Ethiopia is going to gain from the defeat of the Ethiopian Army?

I would like to see a united and prosperous Ethiopia, but God forbid, if the Ethiopian Army is defeated, the main losers will be the Amharas. Addis Abeba will be "Finfine" and Amharas in Addis Abeba and its Environs will be forced to pack and leave immediately. The editor is blaming Woyanne for land locking Ethiopia and I think he is right, but he must realize that, backing the ONLF, a terrorist and a separatist organization is also a campaign to splinter and disintegrate Ethiopia! "Egnam Mekrenal Gudguad Kofirenal!" Ethiopia will never go back to the "neftegna era." The neftegna era is gone. Stop hallucinating.

Do it right or get out

Corpses litter Mogadishu after new battles

Corpses were scattered on Mogadishu streets on Friday after fighting between Islamist-led insurgents and Ethiopian troops killed at least 20 people, witnesses said. Twelve more bodies, including two women, lay in an insurgent stronghold in the north of the city -- a district where rebels dragged dead Ethiopian soldiers along the roads on Thursday.

Comment: Human rights none-sense doesn't apply in Mogadishu. Don't let our gallant forces be the victims of the Islamo-fascists!! Do it right or get out now!!!

New Eritrea-Ethiopia war fears

Ethiopia and Eritrea may return to war over their disputed border without foreign moves to resolve the crisis, warns the International Crisis Group.

The ICG wants US and UN intervention as the military build up by both countries on the border is at alarming levels.
The International Boundary Commission has given the two countries till the end of November to mark the border physically or it will fix it on maps.
But foreign diplomats fear the deadline could end up being a trigger for war.

Some 80,000 people died during the border war between 1998 and 2000.
The disputed town of Badme was awarded to Eritrea in 2002, but Ethiopia insists on talks about the border demarcation.

Turkey getting US intelligence on Kurds (AP)

Pentagon officials are now starting to say publicly that the U.S. is flying manned spy planes over the border area, providing Turkey with more intelligence information, and that there are standing orders for American forces to capture rebels they find.

Turkey fears that Iraqi Kurds could set up an independent Kurdish state — Barzani has set that as his ultimate goal — in a move that could fuel separatist sentiments within Turkey.

Comment: Ethiopia is an ally in the war on terror and the US must not invite separatist terrorists to Washington and threaten the stability in Ethiopia. They must learn from the war in Iraq. Ethiopia is one of the most complex countries in the world with over 80 nationalities and the West must be cautious when dealing with extremists and separatists. We don't want to create another Iraq in the horn of Africa. Congress must help Ethiopia in its fight against separatists and terrorists. Congress must not allow these terrorists and extremists to use the halls of Congress as a staging ground to destabilize our ancient nation, Ethiopia.

Kinijitomania

According to NIH the following are the signs and symptoms of Mania:

Abnormal or excessive elation
Unusual irritability
Decreased need for sleep
Grandiose notions
Increased talking
Racing thoughts

Increased sexual desire
Markedly increased energy
poor judgment

inapproopriate social behaviorONLF rebels kill 140 soldiers

Any one who experiences some or all of these symptoms could be categorized as a maniac depending on other additional symptoms that practitioners use to come up with a certain diagnosis. It looks like that most Kinijit leaders and supporters have some or all of the above symptoms.

These thugs are menace to the Ethiopian people. They are very, very sick. No need to waste time and money to treat their sickness. Let them commit suicide. They are worthless!

Ethiopia, Eritrea Trade Blame on Boundary Dispute

Ethiopia replied with its own statement on the web. It notes that the Commission
recognized Ethiopia's full commitment to the demarcation process, and accuses Eritrea of violating the Algiers accord by moving troops into a 25-kilometer Temporary Security Zone.

Comment: ውዕል ተተጣሒሱ ወይ ድማ ተዘይተኽቢሩ ታብ ጥቕሚ ወፃኢ ይኸውን/ይስረዝ!! If the agreement is violated, it becomes null and void. If one fails to pay his/her rent/mortgage, they get evicted for violating the contract! ኣርባዕተ ነጥቢ።

Give Woyane a credit for forcing the Ferenj to return our stolen obelisk

Ethiopia re-erects ancient Axum obelisk

ADDIS ABABA (AFP) - Ethiopia started re-erecting its famed Axum obelisk 30 months after it returned to the country from Italy where it stayed for 70 years, a UN expert said Wednesday.

At its height, the kingdom extended across areas in what are today Ethiopia, Eritrea, Sudan, Somalia, and Yemen.

Comment: Now, the Ethiopian chalabis, Kinijit leaders and supporters are backing Ethiopia's enemies , who are determined to disintegrate our ancient nation. We are losing our territories a bit at a time. We lost our access to the sea not long ago folks. And now, neftegnas are tirelessly working with a terrorist organization, ONLF, to once again cede a big chunk of Ethiopian territory. What is going on here? Ferenj neftegnoch, Chris Smith of New Jersey and an African American Donald ቃንዛ also from New Jersey are helping our enemies in the North and in the South-east to weaken our country.

Democracy and justice can be implemented only if one has a country. The opposition leaders and supporters don't even have any respect for the men and women who are dying fighting the enemy and defending our country. Their dream is to snatch power by any means necessary. They think Donald and Chris are going to come to the rescue when Ethiopia's enemies are ready to grab the lands in the North and in the South-east.

Supporters of an opposition party propose a toast when ever a member of our defense forces die in a battle field fighting for our country. Their web pages colorfully display the news posted by their terrorists friends of the alleged deaths of our military personnel as breaking news! This is sickening and nauseating. An opposition party with a link to these anti-Ethiopian web pages must be baned in Ethiopia!

An opposition party with a vision doesn't engage in this kind of hate politics. Instead of appealing to be an inclusive party that would unite all Ethiopians regardless of their race, this party is alienating Tigrians and Oromos from becoming its members and working with terrorists to achieve its goal-to grab power by any means necessary.

We lost Sudan, Somalia, Yemen, the Red Sea, Eritrea and now Ogaden? Yes, folks, that is exactly what Kinijit and its ferenj supporters are set out to do. Once Donald and Chris run out of the cash they received from kinijit taxi drivers and dish washers, they will go somewhere else to get it and sponsor another bill for another opposition party from a different poor African country with meager resources which can't defend itself from these congressional predators.

Parking attendants and taxi drivers work hard to make a living in this country. They are already asking Kinijit leaders where the 1.2 million dollars they contributed is. The money is gone before HR2003 is passed in the senate. Now lobbyists need money to be able to pass this bill, but Kinijit has only $12,000 dollars left. It looks like there are a number of mini-kinijits in America. No cash is flowing and kinijit is going to die right here in the US where it was born slowly but surely for it has no home grown support back home.

The white lies of Neftegna Review and Neftegnamedia

http://aigaforum.com/Press_release_MOI.pdf (counter offensive)
ONLF military operation resulted in 140 Woyannes dead(white lies, terrorist lies)

A counter offensive like this is what was missing from the Ethiopian government. The Neftegna tabloids here can spread rumors and that is exactly how they managed to have HR2003 passed by the House. We must be on the offensive and educate these unsuspecting members of Congress so that they don't create another Iraq in the horn of Africa. I don't want congress to say, "we were misled," "if I knew what I know now, I wouldn't have voted for HR2003," "we were misled by Donald Payne and Christopher Smith etc..."

Ahmad Chalabi lied about the existence of WMD in Iraq and misled Congress and the president. Now Iraq is in a civil war, a messy war between the Sunnis and Shiites which could lead this ancient nation to splinter.

The supporters of HR2003, Amhara extremists are pushing Congress, through Donald Payne's office ,to pass a bill that will punish Ethiopia and Ethiopians. These are the Ahmad Chalabis of Ethiopia with little or no support in Ethiopia. We must educate the senators and House representatives that Ethiopia is home to more than 80 nations and nationalities. Sponsoring a bill which is mainly designed to make it easier for these Ethiopian Chalabis to grab power is going to cause a huge problem in Ethiopia. The Oromos , Tigrians, Gurages, Sidamas and others are not behind this bill and Congress must realize these and other facts about Ethiopia before passing a bill that will facilitate Amhara extremist's wishes to grab power with the help of foreign bills. The Neftegna era is over. Neftegnas must accept the fact that sharing power is the only solution to solve Ethiopia's problems.

Let's take Donald Payne and Chris Smith to Oromia and have them talk to the local people in Oromia. Allow them also to travel to Tigray and have them have a little chat about HR2003. The Oromos and Tigrians will tell them that they will never go back to the neftegna era, never again via bills like HR2003 which are designed to help the neftegnas take Ethiopians back to the dark neftegna Era.

The neftegnas, I think miss, Saying "Tigre Menati," and "Gala Ena Segera Eyadere Yigemal." This is disgusting and we say no to the disgusting neftegnas and we want them to keep their beloved bill and go to bed with it. And if they want to coexist and live peacefully in Ethiopia, fine, but they must not support terrorists and celebrate the alleged deaths of members of our Defense Forces.

The Ethiopian government must make it clear that any political party which has any link to the neftegna and terrorist websites must not be allowed to participate in any election, in fact all of the leaders of the opposition parties who have known links to these anti-Ethiopian web pages must be jailed for supporting the terrorists who are killing our soldiers and destabilizing our country.

Neftegnoch celebrating the deaths of Ethiopian Defense Forces

Ogaden rebels kill 140 soldiers, Zenawi advisor escapes by copter(Neftegnamedia)

WARDHEER, Ethiopia- Rebels of the Ogaden National Liberation Front (ONLF) early Saturday killed 140 government soldiers and wounded many more during a fierce attack 25 km northwest of Wardheer, a military communique of the Front disclosed today

This is it! Now, it is clear that the neftegnamedia and neftegna review are the messengers of the enemy. These are terrorist sites which support the breakup of our country. Since the editors and owners of these sites are terrorists and are the main forces behind HR2003; therefore, I can say that HR2003 is a bill that promotes terrorism in Ethiopia and Ethiopians must fight back to kill this bill before it reaches the President's desk.

A genuine Ethiopian site which stands for united Ethiopia would not celebrate the alleged deaths of soldiers who are giving their life to defend the motherland. An editor of the neftegnamedia, if concerned about the sovereignty of Ethiopia, can't and must not celebrate the alleged deaths of our military personnel in a war zone. This people who are the owners of neftegnamedia and neftegna review must be strongly condemned by all citizens who stand for a united Ethiopia.

Here is the owners of neftegna review sharing their joy with their readers who are all neftegna extremists:ONLF military operation resulted in 140 Woyannes dead!!

I just want to let all neftegnas know that this is outrageous and this is not how you would unite a country which is being attacked by its enemies from all corners to break it up in to pieces and God forbid, if this happens, you must all know that the battle grounds at this time are going to be in your neck of the woods where you and your HR2003 will be shreded and dumped.

Civil war looming in Kinijit nation

The leaders of Kinijit and supporters are divided and are engaged in a civil war in their own dream nation called "kinijit nation." Some are calling Hailu Shawel a dictator and want him to be removed from Kinijit's leadership. Hailu Shawel, a former Derg minister is being accused by his former supporters and colleagues as a man who has an enormous lust for power and a dictator. In an interview with VOA, Professor Mesfin denounced Hailu Shawel as a power thirst individual who is not fit to lead an opposition party. When asked if he read Berhanu Nega"s book , the professor said that the book is about "Berhanu Nega." This is a very big problem for kinijit nation, beacause the professor is one of its founders and enjoys the support of thousands of moderate Amharas in Addis Abeba, the only stronghold of the opposition parties.

The Neftegna Review is even more harsh in its criticism of Hailu Shawel. Here is an article in its entirety about the mother of all splits of a political party:

Ethiopians in Washington DC say no to dictatorship(Neftengna Review)

Ethiopians in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area told Hailu Shawel on Sunday in no uncertain term that they do not support dictatorship.
The people expressed their opposition to dictatorship by not showing up at a public meeting organized by the Shaleqa-EPRP alliance (KIC) for Ato Hailu Shawel.

According to Ethiopian Review sources who were inside the meeting hall, only 300-400 people showed up. Of those who showed up, many of them were relatives and close family friends of Ato Hailu Shawel and his circle of crooked friends who have come from out of town, and idir members. Ato Mogus Brook and friends have come all the way from Los Angeles for the meeting. Some of Shaleqa Yoseph’s friends from Dallas have also been observed. The rest were EPRP members in the Washington DC area and Mirchaw Sinishaw’s church members (yes, he has his own church named ‘Urael’ and a young priest).

The planned protest rally had been called off by the organizers after they observed that there were very few people who were coming to the meeting. Ato Hailu Shawel himself arrived two hours late. But there were 27 Washington DC police officers with riot gear on a stand by.

The audience was told that questions can be submitted only in writing. But later on, toward the end of the meeting, the moderator, Dr Taye, allowed six questions to those whom he hand picked. There was no effort by the organizers to even fake that it was a democratic meeting.

The funniest part of the event is the fund raising. Dr Taye announced that $120,000 have been pledged. This figure includes fake pledges ($1,000s, $5,000s and more) from paltalk rooms. An EPRP web site (ethiolion) donated $1,000. Members of the KIC donated about $20,000 (recycling the money they stole from Kinijit). Wzr. Nigest G/Hiwot, who was brought from Ethiopia by Dr Taye for the meeting, received two cars — one from New York and another from some where in Europe. Wzr. Nigest is scheduled to visit and hold similar meetings in about ten other cities. The way things are going, she can open her own car dealership and stay in the U.S.
Dr Taye was buying all these fake pledges from around the world, including some non-existent European country, and proudly announcing them at the public meeting. Where did Taye get his ph.d.? He should ask for refund.

There was also a financial report. Of the $1.2 million that the Shaleqa group diverted, only $12,000 remain, according to the report.
Ato Hailu made his speech 4 hours after the meeting it started. It is hard to understand what message he was trying to convey. He was unfocused and incoherent. The medicines he is taking may be affecting him.

Sunday’s meeting was aggressively promoted by the EPRP web sites and radio programs. Every known EPRP member was present at the meeting. Without the participation of EPRP members, there would have been less then 100 old people. Even with EPRP’s participation, the average age of the audience is no less than 65 years old. Renaissance Hotel looked more like a nursing home on Sunday afternoon.

This is what is going on in diaspora politics. These are the people who are behind HR2003. These are the people who are trying to lead about 80 million Ethiopians. And this is what is happening in Kinijit nation.

A website that promotes the politics of hate had an article that condemned Professor Mesfin. Amhara extremists expected the professor to say kind words about Berhanu Nega. Isn't that his God-given right to say what ever he wants to say from what he experienced in the past few years? They expect this elderly man to come and join these losers in their tour all over the United States with the leaders of the ONLF who are known terrorist and are determined to break up our beloved Ethiopia. They expected him to say nice words about Donald Payne who is campaining to strengthen Ethiopia's enemies and weaken Ethiopia by passing a bill that has nothing to do with implementing democracy and justice in Ethiopia. They expect him to join these traitors who are determined to ascend to power by any means necessary. They expect him to join the agents of Al quaeda. They expect him to endorse the break up of our country. The professor knows that one has to have a country to lead before he/she can run for a political office. If the leaders of Kinijit are working with known enemies to punish Ethiopia, I think the professor has an obligation to stand up and fight against those who are collaborating with the enemy to disintegrate the nation.

There was this rush, a race to the White House to meet with one of Ethiopia's sworn enemy, Donald Payne. This was a political marathon, a special kind of marathon, where Berhanu and Birtukan were the first to arrive at the finish line on Pensylvannia avenue. The former Kinijit leader finished last, a disappointing run for the accomplished champion in this kind of Political marathon, a unique marathon indeed. His experience as a Derg Minister didn't help here.

After spending about two years in prison, they chose to travel to Washington D.C , right after their release, instead of going to their respective constituencies and talk about any concerns the voters may have.

What worries me is that all Amhara citizens are out of touch. A journalist who works for VOA, an Amhara, expected Pr. Mesfin to endorse Berhanu Nega as Kinijit's leader. She didn't sound like a journalist to the litsners, rather, as a Kinijit supporter who was saddened by the split of the party. I hope she has an insurance, a prescription plan that covers drugs(downers} that will help her cope with her day to day life.

This is what the author of an article on Neftegnamedia said about her:The avalanche of negative words he let loose was enough to worry journalist Tizita, who tried to take Prof. Mesfin to a brighter side, hoping he may have a few kind words for Berhanu this time, and asked him if he read Dr. Berhanu’s Yenetsanet Goh Sikid (The Dawn of Freedom).

A true journalist doesn't expect his/her interviewee to say what he/she expects him/her to say. This journalist, Tizita, whom I support with my tax dollars, must be fired for not doing her job right.

Now we are in a civil war in an imaginary nation called "Kinijit Nation." The war is raging accross the world from India to the United States to Europe. The good news is that the war is contained and not spreading. It is only raging with in Kinijit Nation. The victims of the war are those taxi drivers, parking attendants and dish washers who supported Kinijit over the past several years. They don't know where the 1.2 million dollars they collected is. They know some of it was spent on lobbyists to pass bills like HR2003, but they don't know where the bulk of the money they contributed was spent. Some of them are accusing Hailu Shawel of stealing and the war is raging and again the victims at this time are not Tigrians, but the founders of Kinijit, its supporters, Donald Payne himself and of course the neftegnoch.

May God help Donald Payne and his boys.

Amen.

The split of Kinijit: The mother of all splits

ANALYSIS-Ethiopia opposition out of jail but in disarray

But three months on, the opposition Coalition of Unity and Democracy (CUD) is divided and demoralised. Its battle for change is being fought, instead, by members of the U.S. Congress who passed a law linking democratic reform to future security aid.

"Prison didn't weaken CUD, they weakened themselves. The CUD was an amalgamation of different groups, different ideas and different personalities so it was weak by its very nature," said Yoseph Tesfaye, an international relations teacher

To the Ekekam of all Ekekams

I thought you were Neftegna and prepared a trash can for your Ekekam droppings. It looks like , you are not. I would like to know who you are so that I can give you some potion for your "Ekek". Would you like Permethrin 5% cream to apply all over your body from head to toe? or would you like me to prepare a potent form of Ovide lotion for you to paste your mouth with it just in case your Ekek is an extreme form of Ekek?

Believe me I will work on your Ekek. If the potions fail to treat your Ekek, I will make a nice cocktail for you to drink and end your boring Ekekam life.

In ten years or so, Eritrea will be a ghost country

Trade links have been severed. Massawa, Eritrea's biggest port, used to be bustling with cargo headed to and from Ethiopia. Now it is a ghost town.

Eritrea is having trouble getting enough wheat and milk for its people, and in the past few months long ration lines have formed. Shoppers sometimes wait for hours for a single loaf of bread. The country's few private industries are in trouble. In 1997, the Dahlak Share Company cranked out five million pairs of sandals, boots and snazzy leather dress shoes. Now, it produces one million.

"Most of our products used to go to Ethiopia," said Tamirat Tewelde, the factory's marketing manager. (Iht)

Comment: We Ethiopians must choke this terrorist nation and watch it become a ghost country. The Eritreans killed hundreds of thousands of Ethiopians in the last 30 years and they are still trying to splinter and tear our country apart by supporting terrorists both inside and out side of Ethiopia. Government officials who try to reconcile with the terrorist nation of Eritrea must be thrown out of power. Period. The worst is yet to come!!

Hailu Shawel's trail of betrayal
Reflection on Hailu Shawel and his crooked friends - audio
Ethiopians in Washington DC said NO to dictatorship
Hailu Shawel arrives in DC where he faces angry Ethiopians

What happened? I thought he was one of their beloved leader, a man with enormous experience as a former Derg minister. Well, the man is sick. He is suffering from diabetes. He deserves our help. He is suffering from neuropathic pain which requires treatment with expensive drugs such as Gabapentin to soothe the tinglings on his feet and to lower his fluctuating blood sugar with the oldest drugs like Glipizide or may be Glyburide. Let's help this guy. He is our hero(killed tens of thousands of students during the Derg era). He sometimes can be incoherent because of his condition and that is perfectly OK. All we have to do is buy him a couple packages of glucose tablets to keep handy for use during episodes of hypoglycemia. I just feel bad for him. It is sad!!

I probably can help here to save our hero, Mr. Hailu Shawel. If you are blaming him for the money that is not accounted for, you probably have to travel to New Jersey and locate Mr. Donald Payne's freezer. Life sucks!!

To the Neftegna who frequents this blog and leaves some droppings: This is where I dump your droppings. This trash can is actually too clean for your stinky droppings! A Eulogy by Wzt. Birtukan Mideksa

Kinijit: A party of Amhara extremists was born in the US and just died in the US

Once an agreement is breached it is considered null and void

There is no need to negotiate with a known terrorist state on an important issue as demarcating the border which requires a legitimate government that is willing to live in peace with its neighbor. The Eritrean government has breached the Algiers agreement rendering it null and void. The Ethiopian government is always soft on Eritrea, a terrorist state determined to destroy Ethiopia. Here is another mild statement by the Office of The Foreign Minstry of Ethiopia:

ስዩም ለሰላሴ፡Press Statement (25 September 2007) Ethiopia deserves a strong person in the Foreign Minstry who would in no uncertain terms sends a harsh statement from the people of Ethiopia to the Eritreans and the world, not a mild statement such as this to just remind the Eritreans about their violation of the Algiers agreement.

OUR RIVERS

It is shameful to have our people die from starvation, it is shameful to be one of the poorest nations in the world when our country is endowed with such great rivers that could be used to irrigate millions of acres of land enough to feed all Ethiopians. Stop wasting your time talking about H.R 2003 and go back to your homeland and educate your people so that they can get the most of their rivers. Egypt is benefiting from our stupidity while our people have nothing to eat.

Ethiopia: Horn of Dilemma
Sep. 6, 2007 By ALEX PERRY/ADDIS ABABA...On Sept. 11, the spies just might get a night off when Ethiopia, which runs by a modified version of the Julian calendar, will celebrate...1502 words

Kinijit leaders in the West, while the Ethiopians are celebrating the "Ethiopian Millennium"

Comment: True leaders celebrate the most important Holiday, the beginning of a new century, with their people, with Ethiopians, in Ethiopia, not in London or Washington DC. If you tell me these are our leaders, you are wrong, dead wrong. When people from all over the world are traveling to Ethiopia to celebrate this unique African Millennium, Kinijit leaders are in the West posing for a picture with Donald Payne of New Jersey and Anna Gomez of the EU. What a shame!!!
Kinijit Leaders addressing Ethiopian Millenium Crowed in London. ( Kinijit UK )Ethiopian residents in UK gave heroes welcome to freed Kinijit leaders at the millennium celebration in London. Kinijit leaders addressed tens of thousands of Ethiopians at Trafalgar Square. As the evening progressed more Ethiopians poured into Trafalgar square. Ethiopians in UK were all there. In contrast there were 20 men and women at the Woyane embassy at Princess Gate. Kinijit delegates to Europe were presented late in the evening and they were greeted with the largest applause that tore the sky above the square. This was indeed a day to remember. Looking at the spectacle and the size of the crowd one can safely conclude that Ethiopians in the United Kingdom were determined to deny the tyrannical regime of Woyane one of it's wishes for a happy new year, that is, to see 300, 000 Ethiopians from the diaspora in Addis Ababa. Villages deserted, burned in Ethiopia's Ogaden-MSF

Tue Sep 4, 2007 6:20AM EDT By Andrew CawthorneNAIROBI, Sept 4 (Reuters) - Villages are burned and deserted, locals are fleeing to the bush, and basic health needs are going unmet during conflict in Ethiopia's Ogaden region, an international aid agency said on Tuesday."We found a very precarious situation in a very harsh environment," Medecins Sans Frontieres' (MSF) Ethiopia coordinator Loris De Filippi said of the group's recent assessment missions to the remote region of east Ethiopia. He was speaking at a news conference called by MSF to protest against what it said was Ethiopia's blocking of further access for MSF to provide humanitarian aid to an estimated 400,000 people in three of the worst-affected areas.Prime Minister Meles Zenawi's government has denied blocking MSF, saying it does not maintain any no-go zones in Ethiopia. It has been waging a campaign against Ogaden National Liberation Front (ONLF) rebels in the zone for several months.De Filippi said three attempts by MSF staff to enter Ogaden's critical zones in recent days failed, while repeated appeals to Ethiopian authorities had fallen on deaf ears. Two prior assessment missions to the region at the end of June and start of July had been deeply worrying, MSF staff said."I saw burned out villages. I remember passing a number of villages that were empty other than the elderly and sick," Eileen Skinnider, assistant coordinator for Ethiopia, told the news conference via an Internet link from Canada."We didn't pass one commercial vehicle ... I saw women and children chased away (by soldiers) trying to collect water from wells ... I saw small groups of men living in the bush."MSF's departure from Ogaden came after the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) said last month it had pulled out of the region following a government order. With journalists effectively blocked from the region, it is hard to verify the humanitarian situation, or the frequent claims and counter-claims of mass casualties and human rights abuses between the government and ONLF.A U.N. fact-finding mission is currently there.De Filippi said: "I think we are missing a big thing that is happening under our eyes.""We asked, as a desperation measure, for a humanitarian corridor for 24 hours. They (Ethiopian authorities) said they needed to finish operations first. But we said humanitarian aid is not bringing flowers to graves."In the three worst-affected areas now off-limits to MSF, he added, there was one doctor for 400,000 people. Drugs were scant, natal care was minimal, and there were problems of respiratory infections, diarrhoea, malnutrition and tuberculosis in an area already prone to famine, De Filippi said.Ethiopia calls the ONLF -- whose numbers are estimated at several thousand -- a terrorist group backed by foe Eritrea.ONLF rebels say they are fighting for greater autonomy for their homeland, an arid region on the Somalia border which is mainly populated by nomadic

Comment: MSF must go to Darfur or Bagdad and try to help the true victims of war. They must be not allowed to operate in Ethiopia. They are trying to stop the Ethiopian Defense Forces from achieving their goal-which is hunting and killing the terrorists. The Ethiopian government must locate this group(MSF) and send them to where they are from. We don't want the Ferenj to interfere in Ethiopia's affair. They must stop conducting their hidden agendas under the guise of humanitarian aid.

Eritrea says Ethiopia scuppers border talks

Sat Sep 8, 2007 10:56AM EDTASMARA, Sept 8 (Reuters) - Eritrea accused Ethiopia of scuppering demarcation talks on their disputed frontier on Saturday, further dimming prospects of resolving a five-year impasse.Relations between the two Horn of Africa countries have deteriorated since their 1998-2000 border war ended, and diplomats say resentment on both sides over the border is helping to fuel a proxy war in Somalia.Eritrea said no progress was made at talks this week with Ethiopia and a Hague-based boundary commission, which has set a November deadline for both parties to mark the border.A source at the meeting said Eritrea had accepted four conditions set out by the independent commission, including lifting restrictions on a U.N. peacekeeping mission and withdrawing from a buffer zone. But Ethiopia offered no proposals to the commission regarding demarcation, Eritrea's legal adviser said in a statement on the Information Ministry Website, www.shabait.com."Ethiopia stated that, even if Eritrea did everything that the Commission specified, it was not prepared to move forward," the statement said. The source at the meeting said Ethiopia accused Eritrea of involvement in Somalia and Ethiopia's troubled Ogaden region, violating the Algiers accord ending their two-year border war.Ethiopia and its closest ally the United States have repeatedly accused Eritrea of funnelling arms to what they say are al Qaeda-linked "terrorists".They say Eritrea is supporting insurgents fighting Somalia's Ethiopian-backed government and separatist rebels in Ogaden.Asmara has denied the charges. It says Washington, which is considering adding Eritrea to its list of state sponsors of terrorism, is fuelling conflicts in the Horn. The source at the meeting said the boundary commission asked Ethiopia to indicate "unqualified acceptance" of its ruling on the 1,000 km (620 mile) border and abandon a longstanding demand for more dialogue over the issue. The source expected the boundary commission to make one last attempt at mediation in November before disbanding itself. As part of their 2000 peace deal, both Ethiopia and Eritrea agreed to accept as final and binding the boundary commission's ruling on their border. But the process ground to a halt after Addis Ababa rejected the decision which awarded the flashpoint town of Badme to Eritrea. Asmara has refused to consider any changes.

Expelled Eritreans seek damages from Ethiopia
Sun Aug 19 23:28:37 UTC 2007

By Jack Kimball

ASMARA (Reuters) - Standing in a muddy courtyard, 65-year-old Letezai Tewolde-Bahta's eyes dart back and forth as she stares at a doorway leading to Eritrea's legal office.

One of thousands of Eritreans deported from Ethiopia during the two countries' border war of 1998-2000, she opens up a green identity card and points to the granddaughter she says she carried across the front lines.

"The Ethiopians came in the middle of the night and they took us to prison for three days. Then I was deported along with the rest of my family," said Letezai, who had lived in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, for 40 years.

"They took everything from us. Then they took us to the border. There must have been 30 buses," the Eritrean housewife said.

In her weathered hands she holds papers from her past life in Ethiopia -- proof, Eritrean lawyers argue, that she was one of 70,000 dual national Eritreans expelled during the war, in which a similar number of people died.

In a peace deal signed in Algiers in 2000, the two countries agreed to submit to binding arbitration by a claims commission and a boundary commission in The Hague.

While the independent boundary commission has made its final decision, the claims commission -- set up to assess war damages -- has yet to make a final ruling.

In the last few weeks, thousands of Eritreans who lived in Ethiopia before the conflict have lined the streets outside the legal office in Asmara and in other cities across the Horn of Africa nation.

They hope the Eritrea-Ethiopia Claims Commission will give them back what they say was stolen by Ethiopia. Many say they have lost all they had -- money, homes and businesses -- but so far no compensation has been forthcoming.

Ethiopia is also preparing claims for damages against Eritrea at the commission.

While no figures have been released, Eritrea estimated in 2005 its claims could exceed $500 million, or half the country's gross domestic product for that year.

Eritrean lawyers say deportee claims will be the largest.

"It's important, because so many lost so much. Some of these people lost millions of U.S. dollars," said lawyer Ruta Ghebremichael, 23.

The Commission has yet to receive all the financial claims from either side and is not expected to rule on how much should be paid until some time next year.

"WE LOST EVERYTHING"

Wearing an Adidas jacket and U.S. college basketball hat, Melake Yhidego, 40, enters a tiny office in a run-down one-storey building next to Eritrea's legal office.

After waiting in line for most of the morning, Melake sits down in a chair facing one of a team of Eritrean lawyers working on the claim forms.

Like many expellees, he said he was arrested before being deported from Ethiopia, where he had lived for 30 years.

"My wife and child were deported one month before I was. We only met in Asmara," the former driver said.

"This is our money. This is what we worked for so it's a must that Ethiopia pays. We're not begging, this is ours."

The Commission -- part of the Permanent Court of Arbitration set up to settle international disputes -- angered Eritrea when in 2005 it blamed Asmara for triggering the war by attacking Badme town on May 12, 1998.

The small, dusty town was awarded to Asmara by the boundary commission, set up by the Algiers peace deal to mark the Eritrea-Ethiopia border.

Ethiopia initially rejected the decision. Addis Ababa now accepts the frontier ruling, but wants more discussion -- a move Eritrea vehemently rejects.

The border stalemate has ratcheted up tensions along the 1000-km (600-mile) border and Eritrean lawyers said the dispute may affect the claims decision.

"It's hard to see how the claims commission's final judgment can be implemented when one of the parties is still refusing to comply with the boundary commission," said Lea Brilmayer, a U.S. lawyer advising the government.

In the crowded corridor, housewife Letezai shared the skepticism, echoing the concerns of many expellees.

"We lost everything, and we want it to be known," she said.

"The Ethiopians deported us from our houses so why should we believe that they'll pay us," she added before turning her attention back to the slow-moving line.

By Tsegaye Tadesse

ADDIS ABABA, June 28 (Reuters) - Ethiopia is making military preparations for any possible invasion by arch-foe and neighbour Eritrea, with whom it fought a devastating border war in 1998-2000, Prime Minister Meles Zenawi said on Thursday.

"It is deemed necessary to make the necessary military preparation for deterring a possible Eritrean invasion and to repulse such an invasion should it occur," Meles told parliament.

Meles gave no specific information of any new threat, but his comments ratcheted up long-hostile rhetoric between the two Horn of Africa nations.

Eritrean Information Minister Ali Abdu dismissed the comments. "This is just posturing which has resulted from paranoia," he told Reuters by telephone from Asmara.

After a three-decade guerrilla conflict, Eritrea became independent from Ethiopia in 1993. Their subsequent war, over a border of barren plains and dusty villages, cost 70,000 lives.

Unresolved tensions over the border have been compounded in the last year by differences between Eritrea and Ethiopia over Somalia -- where they back different sides -- and Addis Ababa's accusations that Asmara is arming anti-Meles rebel groups.

"It's obvious the government of Eritrea will never miss an opportunity to carry out aggression against Ethiopia should there be an opportunity," Meles said.

Eritrea's Abdu accused Meles of trying to divert attention from internal problems in Ethiopia, where an opposition crackdown is fuelling tensions, and its involvement in Somalia.

Meles said the activity of "terrorists" there had forced him to slow down Ethiopia's withdrawal from its neighbour.

BORDER STALEMATE

Ethiopia and Eritrea are at a political stalemate over a post-war 2002 ruling by an independent boundary commission.

Ethiopia rejects the ruling, which gave a flashpoint town to Eritrea, and wants new talks. Asmara says Addis Ababa and the international community must abide by the decision.

The United Nations, which has sent peacekeepers to the contentious border area, says both sides have put more than 5,000 soldiers into the border zone this year.

One Western aid official specialising in the Horn of Africa noted a shift in Meles' rhetoric regarding Eritrea. But he said Ethiopia's entanglement in Somalia was likely to inhibit any immediate move towards war.

"Meles talks about preparation rather than readiness and that's new," said the official, who declined to be named.

He said Meles may have been responding to Eritrea's decision this week to recall all men under the age of 50 who have completed national service for more military training.

Analysts say tension between Ethiopia and Eritrea may deteriorate further in the run-up to a November deadline, set by the boundary commission, for the two to demarcate their border.

If they fail to do so themselves, the boundary drawn by the commission will stand and U.N. troops are likely to be withdrawn, the aid official said. "Meles is maybe indicating to the United Nations they should reconsider the decision to leave," he added.

The Ethiopian leader said Eritrea lacked the political will to resolve the problem through peaceful means.

He also reinforced his hardline stance on the Ogaden National Liberation Front (ONLF) and Oromo Liberation Front rebels, whom he accuses Eritrea of supporting.

"From now on, we will take the responsibility to protect the people and the country against armed bandits engaged in destruction and violence," he said. (Additional reporting by Katie Nguyen in Nairobi)
